Superstar take two!

Here's a pic from the Sarasota Film Festival of me with Michelle Rodriquez. I met her at the Tenth Anniversary Ball and I can't wait to do the film festival again next year!

It was so funny...I received my June issue of SRQ Magazine in the mail last week....Michelle was on the cover and a sweet review of my goods is on page 110.
*superstar*!!

RIP

So this poor little cupcake was a casualty at an event I did two weeks ago. I donated cupcakes to the Sarasota screening of "The business of being born". The event photographer, Gana, forwarded me this pic....someone built a cross and shrine around the poor little guy that fell to his death from the top tier of the cupcake stand.
A moment of silence please. :]

The scoop!

So here is the cover that popped my cherry!
Also, here is one shot of my cupcakes...you'll have to pick up the issue to see all the others! You can read a bit about the piece here: http://www.srqmagazine.com/issues/issueDetail.cfm?iteID=854
Check it out! WWB will also be in the June issues of both SRQ and Sarasota Magazine!!

Surf, sun and cupcakes!

This is one of my fav cupcake displays I have done. The customer didn't want to go upwards with a tier and just kinda left it up to me. It was a beach wedding on Siesta Key a couple of weeks ago. FYI 20 lbs of raw sugar can cover and entire picnic table at Siesta beach :]

A half eaten cupcake and a tractor

My Mother's Day was crazy. I was baking, packing and delivering the goods. With the bakehouse, holidays are bittersweet for me. They are usually my busiest times and require a lot of me. Ever since I started WWB i look at holidays in a whole new light.

In addition to building and running a small business I am also married and have two small children. Annika 5 and Ian 3 are two crazy, creative, smart and cunning children. Occasionally on the weekends when we are closed they tag along when I have a few things to attend to. You can always tell the day after they have spent time in the bakery with me on the weekend....on Monday the girls will find treasures in odd places or there will be bowls of science experiments, as Annika calls them, hidden in the kitchen. Even though we have "Bakery Rules", mysteriously cupcakes still get eaten and experiments still get concocted.

Ginger and Kristen aren't surprised anymore when they find treasures....like the time Kristen came into the kitchen a few Saturdays ago and asked if Ian was here on Friday with me. I said "yes, why?" She smiles and holds up a half eaten cupcake and a toy tractor.

Busy Bee!

Whew!
The past week has whizzed by without a blog post!
Last Saturday we whipped out 1200 cupcakes for "Taste of South Tampa".
That was killer....it was like a never ending stream up cupcakes!

Mid week I did a photo shoot for Sarasota Magazine. We landed somewhere in the Top 10 of Sarasota's Best! I posted some behind the scenes pics. Giving Ginger photo credit. Many thanks to the ladies at Spa Hollywood for my day of relaxation and beautification. Trust me...it really does hurt the first time you get your eyebrows waxed ;]
